Course Objectives: -To create original art projects designed for the world wide web. -To gain an understanding of new media art -To achieve a level of comfort with the tools and techniques needed to create create and manipulate multimedia elements for the web.

Course Content: This course will focus on multimedia arts within the realm of the internet. We will explore the internet as a medium for art while utilizing the artistic possibilities of HTML, Dreamweaver, and Photoshop. While this is a studio course in which we will learn software and techniques, there will be also be a strong focus on the content of the multimedia works created in this class.

Method of Presentation: Lectures, discussions, demonstrations

Method of Evaluation: Grade will be determined by projects, in- and out-of-class exercises, and class participation. Projects will be graded on: Originality of content and concept, Execution of content and concept, Technical proficiency, Overall presentation and craftsmanship, Effort and Experimentation
