Course Objectives: This course will provide the non-major with a broad base of biological understanding of the human systems so that s/he can function knowledgeably in today's world. One aim of the instructor is to help students become better medical consumers.
Course Content: Exploration of human biology; topics include organ systems, tissues, genetics, microbiology, endocrine, cardiovascular, respiratory, immune systems.
Method of Presentation: Lecture using the chalkboard and PowerPoint. Where appropriate, observation of models and read material may be included.
Method of Evaluation: Quizzes (6); Midterm (3), Final Exam (approximately 1/3 of this is cumulative).
