Expertise: The Philosophy of Leibniz Early Modern Philosophy Fiction-Response Theories in Aesthetics
I have studied intensively the historical philosophers of the 17th and 18th centuries, particularly Leibniz. My book, Leibniz's Final System (Routledge, 2007) is a study of his mature system. I have also published a paper in aesthetics (the philosophy of art) on audience response to fiction and one (co-authored with Ralph Hunt) on humor. In my current studies, I am working on Leibniz and Descartes's Meditations.
