The Pearl Conard Art Gallery

Funded in the mid-1980s by a generous gift from the John and Pearl Conard Foundation, the beautiful Pearl Conard Art Gallery at The Ohio State University at Mansfield hosts an exciting series of exhibitions each year. The facility, offering a unique, contemporary design, is adjacent to the east side of Ovalwood Hall and directly across from the Cyber Café. A breathtaking forest view is in evidence through the gallery’s large windows. The gallery, designed by the Columbus architectural firm of Moody/Nolan Ltd. and built by B.C.&G. Weithman Construction Company Inc. of Bucyrus, features hardwood floors, glass walls on three sides, UV coated glass windows to  protect the art, and a large lighted glass block lantern over the entrance hall. The gallery’s 12-foot ceiling provides an airy, contemporary display space offering 400 feet of wall space and about 2,500 square feet of floor area. The gallery hosts exhibitions of new art and specialty shows – art that, at times, breaks the rules and challenges one’s thinking.
